Completing the installation of e-commerce enterprise 2 has been made as simple as possible, there are 4 initial steps you must follow before being able to use the application.
STEP 1: Unzip the entire package to your hard drive or server, it will unzip to a single directory named "commerce" (this directory will contain many files and directories and will be organized in a manner that must not be altered)
Once you have unzipped the contents of the package and directory structure should look like the following
STEP 2: Upload all files and folders via ftp (or other means) the entire commerce folder and all its included files to your web server. We suggest using a proper ftp application such as ws_ftp or other means, DO NOT use dreamweaver as there are a few encrypted files included with the package and they will be corrupted when placed on the server if you use the built in ftp client in Dreamweaver.
** UPDATE config.cfm file, failure to do so will cause operations such as UPS real time shipping and other functions to not be available **
- Login to your account at our web site to retrieve your customer number and copy it down (it will be an 8 digit number)

once you login to your account the account menu page will show your customer number (example screen shot shown below)
- Open the file (config.cfm) located at the location:
path_to_installation/admin/shipping/ups/config.cfm and update line number 3 in this file with your customer number which - this line by default will be as shown below
variables.customernumber = '00000000';
Replace the number 00000000 with your customer number and save this file to your server in its original location. Using the example account above your customer number would be 00001923 so you would update the variables.customernumber value in the config.cfm file as follows
variables.customernumber = '00001923';
NOTE: The application will be accessed by the following path once uploaded http://www.yourdomain.com/commerce/
If you wish to install and run the application from the root of your web server you can upload all of the files inside of the commerce folder as they are organized independent of the commerce folder.
* There are a limited number of functions such as the linkpoint payment gateway which are compatible with Windows server only as registration of a dll on the server is required in order to use this payment gateway in your store. Payflow Pro also uses a windows only component. All other functionality in the store should be compatible with Linux and Windows servers running CFMX 6.0 or above
STEP 3 : Create a Data Source in CF administrator to a new empty database on your CF server (currently Microsoft SQL Server is supported) - remember this data source name as you will need it for the next step
STEP 4: Run the included setup files to create all the required tables and populate these tables with required default data
Access the setup files by the following url http://www.yourdomain.com/path_to_installation/setup
If you followed the default install instructions above the path will be http://www.yourdomain.com/commerce/setup
Once you complete steps 1 - 3 and run the setup file in step 4 all going to plan you should see a screen similar to the one below

Help for each field on this screen (NOTE: All fields on this screen are required before continuing, otherwise you may experience a failed installation)
1. Create your database on your preferred Database Server
You should have already completed this step as step 1 above, create a new database on your database server ready to accept new tables and data created by this setup script.
2. Create and verify your data source in CF Administrator
Ensure you have created a valid data source in CF administrator to this database and verified the connection is successful.
3. Choose your Database Server
Select you database server from the pop-up menu (currently supported databases will be available in this pop-up only). Other similar database servers may work but are not currently supported.
3a. Are you upgrading from a previous version?
The default selection here will be "No" only those that had an initial release of version 2 would select "Yes" here. Upgrading from version 1.0 is not supported here.
4. Enter your Data source name
Enter the name of your data source created above in CF Administrator (either directly by yourself or as supplied by your ISP)
5. Enter your Administrator username
To access your administration pages you will need an administrator username & password, please enter your desired "System Administrator" username here. (keep a note of it somewhere as if you forget it you won't be able to access your store administration).
NOTE: This is not your security username that may be supplied to you by your ISP to access certain resources on your CF Server
6. Enter your Administrator password
Enter your desired "System Administrator" password here. (keep a note of it somewhere as if you forget it you won't be able to access your store administration).

7. Enter your web site url
Enter your full domain name here or web site address without any paths, simply enter your actual url you use to access your web site
e.g. when setting up the application on our web site we entered http://www.adminprotools.com in this box as this is our web site address.
8. Enter the path from this url that this application is installed in
Now supply the directory path to the root of this application, if you installed the full commerce directory to the root of your web site then your entry here would be commerce. If you uploaded all of the files from the commerce directory directly to your web site meaning the path to the application is the root of your web site then you would leave this field empty.
9. Do you have access to cffile tag on your server?
Tell us if you have access to the cffile tag on your server so we can update the main Application file in your application with your data source name.
10. Enter your email FROM address
To send any email confirmation from your store you must enter a valid from email address, if this is not present in your store settings no email confirmations will be sent, as a result we request this information during setup.
11. Enter your store Zipcode?
If you intend to use real time shipping gateways in your store you will need to enter a valid shipping origin zip code here which will be recorded in your store settings during the installation process.
IMPORTANT: After successful setup of your database please check the Application.cfm file installed at the root of the installation as well as at the root of the admin directory, specifically the line
<cfset Application.DSN = "your-dsn-name"> and make sure it contains the correct data source name for your installation.
If this line has not been updated you will need to manually update it to the correct datasource before proceeding, this must be updated in the Application.cfm file in 2 locations

During the setup of your application you will proceed through 2 more steps after the page above that collects all your basic setup information.
After clicking the "Proceed" button you will see page 2 of the setup sequence

If all tables are created successfully in your database server then the bottom of this screen will look similar to the image below. If so then click the "Continue to Step 3" button this screen and continue to the last step of the setup process.

If all tables are were populated with the required default data successfully then your application will now be setup and ready for initial use and further configuration via the main application administration interface. Click the "Please go here now" link to open the administration interface login page (remember the username and password used to login to the administration module will be the username & password you entered in Page 1 of the setup) The default username and password is admin.
