Popular Questions & Answers

Q – What do I need to do to my bike?

A – This depends on your skill group. For Groups 1-3 tape over the lenses and mirrors. Blue masking painters tape works the best. Always check your bike over for safety and come with Tires and Brakes with at least 80% life expectancy. The bike does not need to be safety wired in this group. We recommend securing the oil drain and fill caps. A street bike works great on the track. For Group 4 No side stands, DOT Racing tires, use of tire warmers, oil and drain wired, no anti-freeze, water, water wetter, evans, ok, belly pan ( no OEM platics), one piece suit, motorcycle boot (high)

Q – What do I need to wear?

A – A full leather suit, NO TEXTILE Two or one piece is fine. Two piece needs to zip all the way around. A hard shell back protector, boots over your ankle ( work boots ok for group 1 only) and leather gloves (gauntlet) past your wrists. A full face quality helmet with eye protection Snell or ECE rating highly recomended. Suits are available to our first timers free of charge. Group 4 one piece suit, and motorcycle boot (high)

Q - How much time will I get to ride?

A – You will ride once per hour for about 15-20 minutes. There will be a 1 hour lunch break. You can ride as much or as little as you like. We start at  6:30 am with Registration and Technical inspection and usually end at 6:00pm. 6:30-7:00 pm is planned during July-August based on registration numbers.

Q – Is riding on the track safer than riding on the street?

A – Yes. Riding the track gives you the opportunity to ride in a controlled, safer environment when compared to the street. We also have emergency staff within minutes if an emergency arises.

Q – How do I know what skill group I should ride in?

A – If you have never ridden on the track before place you in our ACE Intro school . We offer four skill groups starting with Intro ( normally group 1),Novice (normally group2),Advanced (normally group 3), and expert normally group 4). You can request a group you would like to ride depending upon your skill level if you have not ridden with our club before, however you will get a call or email from our director asking specific experience questions and previous riding skills groups that you may have participated in with another organization.
ACE reserves the right to assign rider group level based on the riders answers, or after observed in the track day itself at any time.

Q – Can I ride my bike to and from the track?

A – Yes! But be prepared to be tired at the end of the day!

Q – Is there gas/fuel available at the track?

A – Yes for the most parts the track or a specific vendor will sell fuel to you. Be prepared to use at least 10 gallons at an event.

Q – Where should I stay for a two or more day event?

A – Many have arrange camping. We work with nearby hotels for group rates. See our message board or email Absolutetrackday@aol.com direct for specific questions.

Q - What if I don’t like it?

A –ACE  wants you to be satisfied. We will credit anyone who does not like the track or cannot achieve a graduation from the Intro School to another event. Although no refunds are given, we will work a refund request for a rider on a individual basis.

Does my bike need to pass CCS requirements? I have no plans to race my bike in CCS. I will be doing endurance racing using my friends sv. Thanks
