Just a lil checklist for our newer riders.
1. Hydrate! Start drinking water at least two days before your trackday. B sure to bring water and even some sportsdrinks and light snacks to keep you going through the day. Bananna's, OJ and Coconut water help give you extra potassium which will let you have more energy by the end of the day.
2.Gear! Try on all your gear B4 you get to the track! Full leather suit, gloves over the cuff, back protector, boots and an approved helmet. I like to keep my gear in a gearbag so it stays together between track days.
3. Be prepared! If possible have your bike, fuel and gear ready to go the night before! Read your Handouts!! This way you can wake up, tech inspect, have breakfast, riders meeting and gear up with time to spare and less frustration!
4. Plan goals! Plan out your day and think about what small goals you can set for yourself(turns n lines u may wanna perfect, body position, braking points, etc, etc.
5. Bike! Have your bike ready a few days before your trackday. Test ride your bike if you can. Adjust and lube your chain. Triple check the drain bolt, oil filter, brakelines, brakes and cooling system for tightness and absolutly NO LEAKS!! Set your sag if you can, if not ask Mark from Markbilt to help you when you're at the track. He can adjust your compression and rebound as well. Check your tire pressure! If you don't know the right pressure please check the tire manufacturers website..Dunlop and Pirelli have info online set your COLD pressure the night before and your maintain your HOT pressure throughout the day! Keep a notebook and take notes about your suspension and tire set-up, track and conditions. Feel free to ask coaches and Markbilt about your bike and the proper set-up.
6. Controls! Adjust your Rear sets and clip ons before you get to the track. Take the play out of your throttle and make sure it returns smooth! Cables can fray! Always check this! Make sure your clutch and brake levers are set at the right distance from your bars, again smoothness and operation, lube the levers and chain the night before.
7. Register! B sure to register for all events ahead of time. Events frequently sell out, we dont want you dissapointed!
Thanks all, please add to this as needed
